If a man has any greatness in him, it comes to light, not in one flamboyant hour, but in the ledger of his daily work.

————————
At the end of a couple seriously crappy weeks I shooed the kids and husband out the door and forced myself to get to the nice cold basement and do something. I worked on some backgrounds that I was less then thrilled with and pushed myself to keep going even after I was done.
Collage elements in the background. Mixed media. Just a little something that sort of painted itself. While I painted it I thought of a few friends who have been there for me, especially the last couple weeks, thought it’s not specifically anyone.
Emailed a couple friends and one slapped it up as her wallpaper on her computer, and the other said she’d hang it on her mantel. So guess who’s feeling pretty superb about that now? Really, I’ve got some amazing people who know just how to make me feel great about my art.
I’m totally late joining in Sunday Sketches, but go on over there and see what those talented people are up to.
Cheers,
B

how wonderful to have great friends
i enjoyed seeing your art, very much.
Your pieces are wonderful! Love the deep, dark, emotional colours. Thank you for joining us this week!
It is amazing how a bit of creative time makes everything right again and makes the crappy weeks disappear… at least for a while… hope this starts you on a couple of decidedly non crappy weeks… love the textured background in these and look forward to what you might do next…xx
If I’d painted this, I’d certainly feel good about it! Your friends have good taste.
This is amazing, you have very lucky friends to know a wonderful artist like you!
Hi B, love these, they are very expressive. It’s great to get stuff out on paper…
Hi Brianne! Wonderful painting! Thanks for visiting my party! Wishing you a Happy Halloween!
