The Joy of Creating

Life isn’t about finding yourself.  Life is about creating yourself.

~George Bernard Shaw

————————

Yesterday was one of those days I swore I’d head off to a deep sleep shortly after the kids were down but it couldn’t have happened any more differently.  Nope.  I sat here, avoiding doing anything really, willing sleep to come for a visit.  It didn’t happen.  When I finally got fed up waiting I went downstairs, turned on some music, pushed aside some of the mess, and got into a zone.  It was heaven.

At the end of the night I had a couple great ATC’s and my index card for the day which I’ll show you later.  I felt alive and energized.  I love making art, I need to make art, it’s just a part of who I have become.  Years ago I didn’t think I had a creative bone in my body but I decided I wanted to be an artist and decided to go for it.  And that’s who I’m creating in the long run, me the artist, and it’s a great challenge which I’m totally up for.

Who are you creating for yourself?

Cheers,

B

About B

Brianne is a Canadian gal who loves living in a small town nestled at the base of the Rockies. Her full time job pays with hugs, kisses, and other such joys since she is a stay at home mama; she loves it. When tiny heads hit their pillows during naps and bedtime Brianne scampers off to grab a few moments of creating or some quiet time with her husband who is pretty good about her love affair with her sewing machine and dolls. Brianne’s first love was sewing, but even at that it was only discovered a couple years ago. A few short months ago Brianne ventured into a new addiction, doll making; she never expected to fall in love with the creating of each doll quite the way that she has. For the time being Brianne and her sewing machine have put aside sewing clothes to focus on her doll making.

  4. Wow – stitching on these little cards – these are GREAT! I know that you’ve been leaving comments on my blog but I hadn’t been able to get through to you or find yours so I’m glad you’re on the list at Daisy Yellow. I’m lovin’ this totally free and fun way to be creative and I can see you are too. Thanks so much for visiting. I’ve bookmarked you so I can find you again. :)
