The best way to be boring is to leave nothing out.

————————–
Thought my style is mine and I don’t mind it in general I do find I’m a tad boring. I hate stripes and prints of any kind. Boring right? Yah, I think so too, but it works for me. Or at least it has until now. Now I go for the boring because it’s safe and it’s just what I do. I’m trying to break out of this dull sense of style. I started with this loud grey on grey print t-shirt I found. Yes I am dripping with sarcasm when I say that.
I realize that you can still spice things up and be less than dull and boring by the shape of the clothes you wear, and that’s where I went with this t-shirt remake. For under $4 a shirt I picked up two, one to wear and one to chop up into flare. What resulted was a feminine (another thing that I’m trying to insert more of in my life), flirty, and fun. Did I mention cheap?
Long sleeves are something I love, but are totally impractical because as a mama I’ve always got them pushed up to play, clean, change bums, wash dishes, or what-have-you. Instead of just chopping them off I decided to give them a touch of flair too.
And incase you didn’t notice, the buttons are all mismatched. A little something from my childhood that I’ve always hung onto. Thanks Uncle Chris for that one!
While we’re talking about boring let’s see what you’d see if you first walked in my front door.
My great-grandmother’s trunk, one of the dearest things I own. Above that an empty ledge. This didn’t used to be empty, no, no. It used to have stuff on it until I had two climbing children that would pull everything off and stand on the ledge itself. Still, something needs to be done with this space, it’s putting me to sleep just looking at it.
Cheers,
B

Nice job, I’m another solid type (right now 3 different solids!) so I really like this idea.

It can be hard to break out of our shell and ‘be different’, than we are used to. It’s taken me a long time!
